Louisiana Health Care Review (LHCR), which is the state’s Medicare quality improvement organization, recently honored North Oaks Medical Center with a Silver Hospital Quality Award for the standard of health care provided for heart failure and heart attack patients. LHCR established the awards in 2006 to recognize Louisiana hospitals using proven standards of care to help save lives in at least one of four clinical areas (heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care). Presentation participants included, from left, North Oaks Heart Health Center Medical Director Patrick Delaney, MD, FACC; North Oaks Quality Assessment/Performance Improvement Director Jan Takewell; Lauren Haygood of LHCR; North Oaks Heart Health Center Director Tammy Murphy, RN, LCEP; Sue Sihvonen of LHCR; and North Oaks Heart Health Center Medical Director Claude Nesser, MD, FACC.
