EQHealth Solutions, the state’s Medicare quality improvement organization, recently honored North Oaks Medical Center with a gold Hospital Quality Award for the standard of health care provided for heart attack patients.
The award was announced at the second annual Louisiana Health Care Quality Summit sponsored by eQHealth Solutions earlier this month. Established in 2006, the award recognizes those facilities that are actively engaged in improving care in one or more of four areas (heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia and surgical care). These topics have been designated as national health care priorities by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
The quality improve efforts at North Oaks are led by Senior Vice President of Quality Resources Sandy Patterson, RN. In addition, medical staff efforts led by Heart Health Services Director Tammy Murphy, RN, LCEP, have been crucial to the hospital’s success in this arena.
