Redefining the Landscape of Health Care
Our state was forever changed by the hurricanes of 2005, but we all have gained the chance to rebuild a better Louisiana in some way.
As the recovery process restores and renews our state and region, North Oaks Health System continues to respond with a dynamic agenda of programs and service enhancements planned to better address the health care needs of the rapidly growing and evolving communities we serve.
Many of these endeavors are part of a monumental $200 million expansion plan for North Oaks Health System that has been accelerated for completion in the next 5 years, rather than 10 years from now.
With this rapid growth and the changes that are sure to follow, we feel it is important to balance our ambitions for the future with a sense of responsibility to the communities we serve—a responsibility that is illustrated in our position as the largest community-based hospital organization on the Northshore meeting the health care needs of thousands upon thousands of our neighbors, families and friends. Likewise important, in our responsibility as the second largest employer in Tangipahoa Parish, is our continued ability to provide a stable economic base for our employees and their families.
Beyond even responsibility, our plans to enhance North Oaks Health System are driven by opportunity—a once-in-a-lifetime chance to help create better parishes, a better Northshore and, in turn, a better Louisiana. It is my belief that we must make it our goal to directly confront the challenges of our changing environment and work together to build a brighter future for our children and grandchildren.
It is with this sense of purpose that I look forward to another exciting chapter in the legacy of our state, our region and your North Oaks Health System.
Sincerely,
James E. Cathey Jr.
