Pediatricians Now Seeing Patients at North Oaks Specialty Clinic in Walker
Seven pediatricians are now seeing and accepting new patients at North Oaks Specialty Clinic in Walker in response to community requests.
Drs. Francis N. Donner Jr., Elizabeth H. Fritz, Samuel A. Hickey Jr., Chris J. Leumas, Roger D. Rholdon Sr., Jean G. Tran and Leo R. Westmoreland specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, preventative health maintenance, and management and supervision of growth and development for newborns, infants, children and teenagers. From the cradle through college, services provided include: routine well-child check-ups, sick visits, all required childhood and school immunizations, as well as physicals and health assessments. Additional areas of expertise include: evaluation and management of asthma, allergies, ADHD, ADD and infectious diseases.
With the addition of these physicians, the clinic now offers Livingston Parish local health care services provided by 21 doctors who represent six medical specialties: cardiology, nephrology, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Laboratory and diagnostic X-ray services also are available.
A member of the North Oaks Medical Staff since November 1990, Dr. Donner earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University (LSU) School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed both his internship and residency at LSU Medical Center, also in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. In 1994, Dr. Donner served as Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee of North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond. Professionally, he is a member of the Tangipahoa Parish Medical Society, Southern Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society and Louisiana Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He also serves as a Clinical Associate for the Department of Pediatrics at Tulane University Medical School in New Orleans.
Dr. Fritz earned her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completed both her internship and residency through LSU Medical Center. Before becoming a physician, Dr. Fritz worked as critical care nurse at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee and also on the heart transplant unit of Ochsner Foundation Hospital in New Orleans for a combined total of 4 years. She belongs to the American Academy of Pediatrics and recently joined the North Oaks Medical Staff in June 2007.
Dr. Hickey, who is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, joined the North Oaks Medical Staff in July 2002. He earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completed both his internship and residency through LSU Medical Center. He is currently serving the second year of a 2-year term as Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Chairman of the Medical Executive Committee of North Oaks Medical Center and belongs to the American Academy of Pediatrics.
A member of the North Oaks Medical Staff since September 1984, Dr. Leumas earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine. He completed both his internship and residency at Earl K. Long Memorial Hospital in Baton Rouge. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and belongs to the Tangipahoa Parish Medical Society, Southern Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society and American Academy of Pediatrics. He has held several positions on the Medical Executive Committee of North Oaks Medical Center, including Chief-of-Staff in 1997, Member-at-Large in 1993 and Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Chairman in 1992.
Dr. Rholdon joined the North Oaks Medical Staff in June 1979 and earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at Charity Hospital in New Orleans. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Professionally, he belongs to the Tangipahoa Parish Medical Society, Southern Medical Association and Louisiana State Medical Society. He has held several positions on the Medical Executive Committee of North Oaks Medical Center, including Member-at-Large in 1992 and Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Chairman in 1984 and 1990. He also has served as a Clinical Associate in Pediatrics at Tulane University Medical Center since January 1994.
Dr. Tran earned her medical degree from LSU School of Medicine and completed her internship and residency through Tulane University Medical Center. She joined the North Oaks Medical staff in June 1998 and served as Chairman of the Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Department on the Medical Executive Committee for North Oaks Medical Center from 2002 to 2003. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Physicians and certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Professionally, Dr. Tran belongs to the Southeast Louisiana Medical Society and American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Westmoreland earned his medical degree from LSU School of Medicine. He completed his internship through Charity Hospital and residency through LSU Medical Center. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He served as North Oaks Medical Center’s Chief-of-Staff in 1992 and as Chairman of the Obstetrics/Gynecology and Pediatrics Department on the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee in 1988. In 1991, he was recognized by Who’s Who in Health and Medical Services for the U.S. Professionally, he belongs to the Tangipahoa Parish Medical Society and Louisiana State Medical Society.
North Oaks Specialty Clinic is located in Suite N of Southside Plaza at 28050 Walker S. Rd. in Walker (next to Wal-Mart). Hours of operation are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
