North Oaks to Present Free Cooking Demonstration and Food Sampling

Are you interested in making more informed food choices and developing cooking habits that support a healthy lifestyle but don’t know where to start?

Plan to attend North Oaks Health System’s free demonstration of cooking techniques on Thursday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Alack Culinary Equipment and Supplies, located at 17420 Hwy. 190 in Hammond.

In celebration of National Nutrition Month®, North Oaks Dietetic Interns will offer guidance on proper nutrition, making informed food choices and developing sound eating habits as they prepare a nutritious and delicious meal consisting of an appetizer, entrée, starch, salad and dessert. Each participant will have the opportunity to sample the dishes and take home the recipes. Time to ask questions also will be offered.
