Battling Cancer with a Positive Self-Image
For women living with cancer, a confident self-image may positively affect their outlook and the effectiveness of their treatment. This philosophy is at the heart of “Look Good…Feel Better,” an American Cancer Society program. Its goal is to inform and inspire women with the determination and courage to take on the challenges of their disease and therapy.
North Oaks Health System and the American Cancer Society will conduct a free presentation of “Look Good…Feel Better” on Monday, April 9 from 12 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the CMR Unit Conference Room, located within North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital.
Be our guest for lunch and a makeover and learn from professionals about make-up, skin care, wig selection and upkeep, and the creative use of scarves, hats and turbans. Participants also will receive a free take-home cosmetic kit and instruction booklet.
Look Good…Feel Better is made possible by the volunteer efforts of cosmetologists and health care facilities nationwide.
Registration is required. Please call North Oaks Outpatient Infusion Therapy Unit at (985) 230-1660 to register.
