For women living with cancer, a confident self-image may positively affect their outlook and treatment effectiveness. This philosophy is at the heart of “Look Good…Feel Better,” an American Cancer Society program for women in cancer treatment designed to inspire them with the determination and courage to take on the challenges of their condition and therapy.

North Oaks Health System and the American Cancer Society will offer a free dinner presentation of Look Good…Feel Better, on Monday, July14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in the North Oaks Rehabilitation Hospital Classroom, located at 1900 S. Morrison Blvd. in Hammond.

Licensed cosmetologists will treat each guest to a complimentary makeover and present practical advice about make-up, skin care, wig selection and upkeep, and the creative use of scarves, hats and turbans. Participants also will receive a free cosmetics kit and instruction booklet to take home.

Look Good…Feel Better is made possible by the volunteer efforts of cosmetologists and health care facilities nationwide.

Registration is required, and seating is limited. Please call the North Oaks Outpatient Infusion Therapy Unit at (985) 230-1660 to make a reservation to attend Look Good…Feel Better.
