North Oaks Diabetes Support Group to Learn
About Exercise and Diabetes
The North Oaks Diabetes Support Group will learn how regular exercise benefits those with diabetes at their Wednesday, Feb. 6 meeting from 6-7 p.m.
The free meeting will be held in Meeting Room C of the E. Brent Dufreche Conference Center, located within North Oaks Diagnostic Center in Hammond.
For people with diabetes, physical activity is a very important part of staying healthy. Exercise can help you control your blood glucose, weight, and blood pressure, as well as raise your “good” cholesterol and lower your “bad” cholesterol. North Oaks Rehabilitation Services Exercise Specialist Kristen Locicero will lead a presentation to help support group participants learn more about how to choose the right exercise program and tips for making exercise a safe and enjoyable part of life.
Registration for North Oaks Diabetes Support Group meetings is not required. For more information about the support group, call the North Oaks Diabetes Education Clinic—which is recognized as a “Center of Excellence in Diabetes Education” by the American Diabetes Association—at (985) 230-5723.
