North Oaks Drive Now Open
“North Oaks Drive,” a new secondary access road for North Oaks Medical Center from Club Deluxe Road in Hammond, is now open, according to Brian Hannah, North Oaks Facility Development and Property Management Officer.
The road formally opened at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 1 immediately following a preview tour and ribbon cutting with North Oaks officials and local dignitaries.
North Oaks Drive represents a $3.4 million investment in the community by the health system. The lighted roadway is six-tenths mile in length and has been built to highway standards to improve patient and visitor safety and convenience as a secondary access point to the North Oaks Medical Center campus. The new road also opens up access to 32 acres of North Oaks-owned land across Arnold Creek.
The posted speed limits for North Oaks Drive are 25 miles per hour in the straight-aways and 15 miles per hour in curves.
Industrial Enterprises served as contractor on the project, which was engineered by CSRS, Inc., both of Baton Rouge. North Oaks Drive construction began in March 2006 and took 8 months to complete.
