Russell Hoover Promoted to Plant Operations Director
Russell Hoover has accepted a promotion as Director of Plant Operations.
As such, he will oversee all activities related to electrical and mechanical maintenance, as well as biomedical and environment of care/safety services.
The former Plant Operations Coordinator has been a member of the North Oaks family for 14 years. He began his North Oaks career in 1992 the first in-house Electrician. He was promoted to Plant Operations Supervisor in 1994 and Coordinator in 1996. Hoover has been selected as the North Oaks Employee of the Month three times—in November 1993, May 1998 and February 2006—and was a member of the health system’s Construction, Renovation, Risk Management and Infection Control Intervention Team, which was recognized as North Oaks’ Continuous Quality Improvement Team of the Year in 2002. His accounts of the North Oaks experience also have been prominently featured in North Oaks image campaigns in 2003 and 2006.
“Russell has a true passion and love for North Oaks and its commitment to patient care and community outreach,” affirms Operations Officer Michele Kidd Sutton.
Hoover earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Southeastern Louisiana University.
The Ponchatoula resident is a lifetime member of the city’s Volunteer Fire Department and a trained Emergency Medical Technician. In addition, he is a member of the American Society for Healthcare Engineering.
“It gives me an extra sense of pride anytime that we can promote from within. “He has performed in an exemplary manner throughout his tenure, and I look forward to working with him as he grows to new challenges,” Sutton concludes.
