North Oaks Specialty Clinic in Walker Celebrates Relocation with Ribbon Cutting

A ribbon cutting on Tuesday, November 28 at 10 a.m. celebrated the relocation of North Oaks Specialty Clinic in Walker to Suite N of Southside Plaza at 28050 Walker South Road. The new location is two doors down from North Oaks Walk-In Clinic in Suite L.

Refreshments were served, and self-guided tours were offered following the brief ribbon cutting program that introduced the new location to local dignitaries and community members.

The relocation of the clinic to a suite separate from North Oaks Walk-In Clinic earlier this month was necessary to accommodate growing patient needs for additional physician and exam room capacity.

The Clinics continue to share the phone number of (225) 664-2111 and on-site diagnostic X-ray and lab testing services.

North Oaks Specialty Clinic physicians offer medical attention by appointment in the fields of Cardiology; Ear, Nose and Throat; Internal Medicine; Nephrology; Obstetrics & Gynecology; Orthopedics; and Urology. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.

North Oaks Walk-In Clinic provides treatment without an appointment for patients, ages 2 months and older, experiencing illness or minor traumatic injury. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. North Oaks Walk-In Clinic is staffed by family and emergency medicine trained physicians and nurse practitioners. As an urgent care facility, North Oaks Walk-In Clinic is not meant as a replacement for an emergency room in life- or limb-threatening situations.

“Whether your need is primary, specialty or urgent health care, the North Oaks Clinic network of facilities offers a broad scope of such medical services,” states Regina Scott, North Oaks Clinic Director. “The relocation of North Oaks Specialty Clinic in Walker will enable more specialists to serve the Livingston Parish community.” Currently, there are 22 physicians, who represent eight health care specialties, practicing medicine between North Oaks Specialty Clinic and North Oaks Walk-In Clinic in Walker.
