North Oaks Hospice offers care to persons in the last phases of an incurable illness so they can live as fully and comfortably as possible. Illnesses may include diagnoses such as end-stage lung, heart, kidney, liver or neurological diseases as well as cancer.
The North Oaks Hospice team of trained professionals includes physicians, nurses, counselors, therapists, aides and volunteers who provide medical care and support services to the patient and their entire family. Care focuses on the emotional, physical and spiritual needs, and emphasizes the importance of the patient’s quality of life. Most patients receive hospice care in their home.
Bereavement counseling and support services are provided to families for 1 year following the death of their loved one. A special Hospice Memorial Service each spring and a Holiday Remembrance Celebration during the Christmas season to bring hospice families and hospice staff together each year.
