Intensive Care Unit Staff Nurse Sarah, RN, Receives Nurse Excellence Award
Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Staff Nurse Sarah, RN, has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for March 2012.
Sarah joined the North Oaks team in 2007 as a Critical Care Services Nurse Technician, and accepted her current position in 2009. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University.
“Sarah is a great critical care nurse who brings comfort to patients and their families,” notes Critical Care/Respiratory Care Director Mike Whittington. “She is very compassionate and treats every patient with the dignity and respect he or she deserves.”
Sarah and her husband Ryan live in Denham Springs with their 18-month-old son Brayden. In her spare time, Sarah teaches dance lessons at a Denham Springs dance studio. She also attends Hebron Baptist Church in Denham Springs.
“In the ICU, we see patients and families at the most vulnerable times in their lives. If I can help cushion the sorrow, comfort the doubt or celebrate the joy, it’s a better day.”
