Endoscopy Unit Charge Nurse Amanda, RN, Receives Nurse Excellence Award
Endoscopy Unit Charge Nurse Amanda, RN, has been honored with the North Oaks Health System Nurse Excellence Award for February 2012.
Amanda joined the North Oaks team in 2005 as a Surgery Unit Staff Nurse after earning her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Southeastern Louisiana University. She later accepted the position of Charge Nurse on the unit before transferring to the Endoscopy Unit as a Staff Nurse in 2008. She was promoted to her current position last year.
“Amanda is professional, enthusiastic and dedicated,” shares Vice President of Surgical Services Terri Lewis. “She portrays a solid work ethic and the true meaning of teamwork. She is a genuine patient advocate, always striving for positive patient experiences and outcomes.”
A Slidell native, Amanda and her husband TJ reside in Denham Springs. They are the parents of 11-month-old Micah Thomas. Although Amanda spends much of her time focused on her new son, she also enjoys scrapbooking and doing craft projects. She is a member of Jefferson Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.
“I cannot think of a better way to put my servant’s heart to work than to serve someone when he or she is struggling with a hardship, life-altering illness or just adjusting to being a caregiver.”
